Jack Daniel's: Election Posters

VOTE FOR JACK

During the most historic election in U.S. history, Jack Daniel’s decided to weigh in on the one issue we had any right to weigh in on: whiskey. Combining Jack Daniel’s iconography and classic '50s and '60s American political design, and with the help of yee-Haw Industries Letterpress, we created a series of authentic campaign posters. We covered the cities hosting the Republican and Democratic National conventions with posters and wild postings. Because if there’s one thing that people need during the political process, it’s a drink.

WILD POSTING

Construction site walls, the sides of buildings, vacant storefronts, you name it. Where there was an empty space, we covered it. When we couldn’t find a space, we made one.

Campaign Headquarters: Knoxville, Tennessee

The success of this poster series was partly in the execution. Jack Daniel’s is nothing if not authentic. So to make the most authentic looking posters we had to make them in the most authentic way.
We set up shop in downtown Knoxville with our friends at yee-Haw Industries. Partners Kevin Bradley and Julie Belcher started yee-Haw in 1996 in an old bluegrass barn with the help of some antique printmaking equipment and a love of handmade art. In 1998 they moved to Gay Street in the heart of Knoxville where they continue to create original works in the old tradition for everything from concert posters to fine art prints.
