Amtrak: You Have the Right

Is electricity an amazing new tool for productivity? Is legroom downright revolutionary? These days, yes. The message was simple but powerful: business travelers can take back hours of their lives by taking control of how they spend their travel time. A trip aboard Amtrak’s Acela Express is a far cry from the hassles and indignities of the airport and the discomfort and bare bones service of the airplane. Instead, Acela provides corporate travelers with a place to work or relax, with tabletops, electrical outlets and humanly proportioned seating – not to mention a Café Car, a Quiet Car and downtown arrivals – all niceties that, in Amtrak’s view, anyone doing business in the Northeast has the right to expect.
